Corinthians had a one-point deficit to league leaders Palmeiras before the game against Atletico Paranaense and the gap increased to three points ahead of the Matchday 13 games this weekend as a result of the aforementioned draw.

They are on a run of eight games without defeat against the newly promoted team and they can make it nine games without a loss with a win or draw against Goias this weekend. Corinthians have a record of six wins and two draws from their last eight meetings.
