CHELSEA FORWARD LINKED WITH MOVE TO BRAZIL

Chelsea forward Willian is reportedly a target for Brazilian side Corinthians, according to reports from Brazil. The 31-year-old is in the final year of his contract and there have been speculations regarding his future. It had been anticipated that he is most likely in the twilight of his career with Chelsea reluctant to sanction a new long-term deal.

Willian who recently took the number 10 shirt after the departure of Eden Hazard in the summer has been a key feature under new manager Frank Lampard. He is currently one of the oldest members of the first team alongside Ceasar Azpilicueta.

The experienced Brazilian has been part of two Championship winning teams under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. His hard running and creativity has seen him earn a position as a favourite among the Blues faithful and the news of a potential exit comes as a surprise.

There had been reports that the Spanish side were after his signature in the summer but a move failed to materialize. Reports in Italy suggest that Italian giants Juventus are weighing up a move for the pacy forward.

The Italian club are the kings of free transfer attracting a host of top quality players via this system in the past. A move back to Corinthians would be a beautiful reunion to the club that gave him the initial platform to shine.

Chelsea insiders believe that the club could still offer a late deal for the forward before the beginning of the transfer window in January. Willian has been a key feature in the first team this season and has scored twice this season.

It remains to be seen how this transfer will pan out in the coming weeks. However, the most likely scenario would be that he remains at the club for another season.
