United Reportedly In Pole Position To Land Corinthians Target

In accordance with the club’s redefined transfer policy of targeting only youth players for a long-term purpose, Manchester Unite have identified yet another youth prodigy in Brazil who they want to sign and continue their mass recruitment of exciting young talents across Europe and beyond.

The Red Devils have now set sights on Palmeiras attacker Gabriel Veron, who according to reports will be able to leave his current club for a fee of £18 million. Apart from Palmeiras local league rivals Corinthians, Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have also been reported to be interested in the player who has been making massive improvements in the Brazilian Serie A since last season.

According to FourFourTwo, other top dogs in Europe to have registered an interest in Veron include Real Madrid, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Olympique Marseille, as well as Lyon, to mention but a few.

However, despite more clubs drooling at the prospect of signing the young forward, English Premier League heavyweights Manchester United look all set to have won the race to land his signature. Given how big a club like United are, it may not cost them much effort to negotiate and seal the transfer given that they can pay the amount of money the Brazilian club will be demanding.

United could even pay less than the £18 million asking price since the player himself has reportedly disclosed to his friends and family that he would cherish the idea of moving to the Theater of Dreams. Should United land the forward though, he may have to join the youth team as the first-team is already jam-packed by a host of attacking talents already.

Fellow young stars Facundo Pellistri and Ahmad Diallo recently signed for United and are still waiting to make his debut. The same may be the case for Veron should he join.
